The Shalom House, located in South Lebanon on the corner of West and Green streets at 304 W Green St., is where it all began. This little white house has been renovated into a dine-in facility where free meals are served weekly on Tuesdays (5-7pm), Saturdays (11-1pm) and the last Thursday of the month (5-7).
Before even stepping into the house, you’ll notice our free lending library located in front. It is a common sight to see neighbors of all ages visiting the lending library throughout the week. Mystery novels, children’s books, and Best-Sellers are all donated, borrowed, and returned to the library. Feel free to pick up a book or drop one off on your next visit!
Once you make it into the doors of the Shalom House, you’ll begin to experience what Shalom is all about. Conversations are shared as guests converse with one another over cups of coffee and whatever is on the menu for that day. The diners are our valued guests and we believe deeply in valuing people as people. Like at any other restaurant, therefore, our guests are treated with respect, their orders are taken, and our “waiters” and “waitresses” serve them their drinks, meals, and desserts. It’s a lovely atmosphere. It’s building connections and community. Shalom is taking place. Won’t you join us?
